Based on previous successful cooperation with the Institute for Public Health, the director of the Institute has requested the Ministry for Environment and Physical Planning for assistance in elimination of the significant quantities of liquid and solid chemical waste. This waste has been accumulated from the laboratories during longer period of time. After the identification process, which resulted in list of 739 types of waste chemicals with a quantity of 7.2 tonnes, the experts have approached to the safe re-packaging and labeling of the chemicals, afterwards safely transported to Valorec, the company specialized in toxic waste incineration, located in Switzerland.
